Amen Corner Scholarship Presentation at the 12/13/2024, Allegheny County Police Training Academy Graduation Ceremony

Donovan is a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and worked at numerous jobs to pay his way through the Academy. Bryanna is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Slippery Rock University, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice.
About the Academy
Dedicated in 1971, the Allegheny County Police Training Academy sits in a remote area of North Park, providing a “private” site for training. The Academy was built with the vision of providing all training for police officers within Allegheny County. There are presently over 120 police agencies within the county. The Academy has fulfilled that mission and beyond. The police academy is assisted in its mission by an Advisory Board of Allegheny County Chiefs of Police.
The academy is committed to training all new officers according to the standards set forth in PA Act 120, and also providing Mandatory-In-Service Training for all active-duty police officers. This will continue to be the ongoing commitment of this academy.
In December, Amen Corner held our socially distant annual general meeting. It’s been a tough year for our club. However we are gearing up for 2021 and hope to be able to see all of you then!
In the meantime, Amen Corner has made a donation to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank in memory of our long time member and dear friend Thomas McCaffery who sadly passed away in 2019.
